Artist Statement

My work explores the human condition through the universal questions that have shaped humanity for centuries: What it means to be human, the meaning of life, the mystery of death, and our place within the natural world. Rather than offering fixed answers, my paintings create spaces for contemplation and reflection.

Colour is central to my practice, at times vibrant, and in moments muted, but never hierarchical. Even when using geometric shapes, they often soften and breathe, seeking harmony rather than rigidity. Through automatism and techniques such as dry brushing, pointillism, and the intentional building of textured surfaces with fabrics, I create layered compositions illuminating with rhythm, movement, and material presence. These layers evoke fragments of a memory, experience, and emotion, allowing each work to unfold through multiple interpretations.

Deeply inspired by the world around me and its organic forms, I draw upon patterns that feel exposed and timeless. They remind us that abstraction has always existed within nature, long before we sought to define it. Rather than depicting the world as it appears, I translate how our world is experienced, revealing its fleeting moments and quiet complexity, reminding us that we exist not apart from, but as part of, all living things.
